What an absolute pleasure to trial run another scent from Wickham's forthcoming 1912 line of soaps: today, Parma Violet.

Merely opening the tub and the immediate area is writhing with that distinctively powdery nose which only gets better and better during the lather. It's strong alright, as is with the rest of the 1912 line. Classy, too.

Super shave with my favourite Ever Ready 1912. Truth be told, I have a bit of a soft-spot for proper florals, be it a good English Rose, French Lavender or Parma Violet ... even Lilac as a classic splash! No, I have a real soft-spot for Parma Violet.

It needs to be pure and unadulterated. Parma Violet is distinct and needs no meddling. Wickham's nailed it! Less is more and that restrain has come through as a pure and classic soap.

Today, I've been enjoying Ted Lapidus Pour Homme Black Extreme EDT but it is a bit, well, modern? Pepped up with an attar, it's just the ticket! I went with a deep, balsamic and slightly musky number from little.gifts on eBay: African Black Gold.

It worked out well ...
